The heart of human excellence often begins to beat when you discover a pursuit that absorbs you, frees you, challenges you, and gives you a sense of meaning, joy and passion. – Terry Orlick

What is your passion? I mean, really, your true passion. We are all in one way or another passionate about God, our children, our spouses, family, etc. But what about your hobby? What are you truly passionate about? If you had no worries, and everything was under control, what would you do? Some of my friends have told me they would be more involved in the community, church, a not-for-profit organization. But my question is: what are you really passionate  about? When you were a little kid or a teenager, what  did you do for fun? What was your hobby? I ask all of these questions because I had an interesting experience that I would like to share.

When I was a  teenager, I loved music. Specifically, I loved spinning records, creating mixes, and being the life of the party by being a DJ. It wasn’t until recently that I rekindled that passion. Twenty years ago I spun records. Notice that word “records”. They were vinyl. That’s how long it’s been. Now, thanks to technology, we have music available in MP3; turntables are a thing of the past. All you need is a computer and a controller. I invite you to revisit your past and rekindle that passion you once had for a hobby. I shared my recent  experience with some friends; some are already doing what they once loved: cycling, art, golf, playing guitar, etc. My challenge to you is to dig down deep inside and find your true passion in life. Most important, act on it.
